Coursework
The ultimate Vision for Exceptional Experiences LLC includes coursework towards Independent Living and Gainful Employment. Students with disabilities tend to finish high school with limited options for learning, practicing, and mastering independence skills in a format saturated with direct instruction they have learned to depend on for gaining new skills. In a collegiate environment, providing college-like classes with skills-based coursework, Exceptional Experiences thrives to provide necessary education and training for individuals to successfully transition into adulthood. Education and courses designed to imitate college include level 1 (freshman) and level 2 (sophomore) instruction for Independent Living, and level 3 (junior) with level 4 (senior) instruction for Gainful Employment, to include Individualized Employment Services.

Individuals will begin the process of learning skills related to living independently. Skills from Activities of Daily Living and Relational and Social to Cooking and Financial lessons will all be taught in order to better prepare young adults with disabilities to be successful.

Students will participate in more extensive independent living training with opportunities to practice in various settings with different skills being taught, assessed, and retaught to mastery. Students will take coursework in order to earn Independent Living Certification, a record of program success and mastery of skills needed for living independently.

Individuals participate in junior level job skills education and training based on individual strengths and interests, job shadow opportunities, volunteer agreements, and instructional support.

Employment Services is the final year in obtaining a productive job or career that meets individual goals and desires to have stability and enjoyment in work. Individuals participate in thorough assessment in order to determine best placement and follow along services for training purposes, as well as supervised visits to ensure success and smooth transition into Gainful Employment.

We have developed multiple ‘micro-businesses’ through out our lifetime from sales of crafts like beaded jewelry and pottery, to restaurant clean-up crew, and even on the job training at individuals’ favorite employment sites. All of your independent living and gainful employment needs can be met right here!

Exceptional Experiences is uniquely qualified to assist your or your loved one with special needs with transition to independent adulthood due to the extensive education and dedication. ‘Ms. Erica is a certified special educator with 20 years experience working with individuals with special needs and more than a decade in assisting adults with independence.

Once contact has been made, Exceptional Experiences will quickly develop a plan to gather information specific to the special needs and circumstances unique to the individual. An initial consultation will be conducted in person in which the teacher/job coach will meet the individual and get acquainted with strengths, goals, and needs.

Individualized Employment Services are going to be provided exactly where the individual needing services will be. Exceptional Experiences has roots as a mobile tutor, and continues to provide services to individuals on the job sites and related locations in order to best promote smooth transition into the work world.

In future partnership with Exceptional Experiences, The Vision is an important component in providing education and training in Independent Living. The independence academy promotes successful transition into independent adulthood by addressing residential components, while Exceptional Experiences provides education and training in Independent Living and GainfulEmployment seperately.
